La oportunidad apareci\u00f3 con \u201cTamo Junto\u201d. Se trata de un trabajo completamente manual excepto por los momentos de renderizaci\u00f3n. Como no s\u00e9 utilizar las herramientas, el director Pedro Conti dispuso un equipo para ayudarme con las tareas. En las reuniones durante la preproducci\u00f3n, \u00e9l me aport\u00f3 muchas cosas. Yo le mostraba las referencias y le pasaba lo que quer\u00eda. No se puede ir apuntando la c\u00e1mara para cualquier lado. No se puede probar una posici\u00f3n a ver si funciona. La pre-producci\u00f3n necesita ser muy bien hecha porque todo es caro y demorado, y con un tiempo limitante para la ejecuci\u00f3n. Eso me llev\u00f3 a aprender a ser m\u00e1s preciso en los encuadres, algo que podr\u00e9 llevar a pel\u00edculas Live Action. No ten\u00eda idea de lo caro que es y de c\u00f3mo hay que tener una precisi\u00f3n quir\u00fargica.<\/p>\n<p>La tecnolog\u00eda es muy extra\u00f1a. Confieso que qued\u00e9 muy asustado al ver que en animaci\u00f3n nada es imposible. Ubicar la c\u00e1mara a 15 metros de altura es de lo m\u00e1s simple. Hacerla acercarse a los personajes usando un movimiento de Dolly In y combinarlo con un movimiento Boom, de abajo hacia arriba, es la cosa m\u00e1s tranquila del mundo. En este caso, es muy parecido a la forma como decides el vidrio que quieres usar en Live Action, y los plugins que van a simular. Si en una escena u otra te das cuenta de que necesitas cambiar la distancia focal y alterar la profundidad de campo, tambi\u00e9n puedes hacerlo. En tal situaci\u00f3n, la animaci\u00f3n es muy semejante a la Live Action, con la excepci\u00f3n de que no tienes un juego de lentes ni un rango de distancias focales limitado. \u00a1El cielo es el l\u00edmite! En general, podemos simular cualquier tipo de lente, incluso lentes anam\u00f3rficos, como sucede en el caso de \u201cTamo Junto\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>Tienes el control sobre las herramientas necesarias para iluminar: posici\u00f3n, altura, intensidad, naturaleza, temperatura, todo al alcance de la mano. Hay cosas muy interesantes cuando iluminas una escena de animaci\u00f3n. Si quieres una naturaleza ultra bounce con alg\u00fan destacado usando un Butterfly de 6&#215;6 como en Live Action, no necesitas tener una cabeza de luz, apenas con el Butterfly y la tela apropiada puedes obtener algo muy parecido. Todo esto est\u00e1 en una \u00fanica fuente, puedes tener el control sin l\u00edmites sobre el tama\u00f1o de la fuente. La diriges f\u00e1cilmente, la colocas a la altura que se te antoje. Si precisas hacer todo esto en un plano muy abierto, puedes dejar las fuentes invisibles con un click. <\/p>\n<p>La c\u00e1mara de 3D funciona como una c\u00e1mara f\u00edsica, tenemos el control F-stop, shutter speed, white balance, etc. La \u00fanica diferencia es la escala con la que trabajamos, un poco menor que la escala real. As\u00ed, no creamos par\u00e1metros con la luz de lugares reales, como Ja\u00e7an\u00e1, donde sucede la historia. Conti y yo quer\u00edamos explotar al m\u00e1ximo el lenguaje de los colores para contar de forma imag\u00e9tica el sentimiento que estaba experimentando el personaje, o c\u00f3mo su vida estaba en cierto instante. Usamos esas herramientas para auxiliarnos al contar la historia. <\/p>\n<p>Ten\u00edamos algunas met\u00e1foras y s\u00edmbolos para la pel\u00edcula. El color rojo era una de ellas, puesto que simboliza la muerte en la escena en la que el personaje recuerda la p\u00e9rdida de su madre. Usamos el color rojo en esa escena para cargarla con esa simbolog\u00eda. Durante la narrativa, \u00e9sta se repite se\u00f1alando donde est\u00e1 o pas\u00f3 la muerte. En la misma imagen, la c\u00e1mara temblorosa cumple el papel de acentuar ese sentimiento de \u201cdesesperaci\u00f3n\u201d que llega en ese momento. Los planos son m\u00e1s apretados para enfatizar el esfuerzo que realiza el personaje para no perder a quien ama. El tren hace referencia a la canci\u00f3n \u201cTrem das Onze\u201d, de Adorinan Barbosa. Intentamos convocar elementos de la cultura local del barrio e introducirlos en nuestra pel\u00edcula. Usando el tren como una met\u00e1fora de la vida, y tambi\u00e9n echando mano de esa secuencia para mostrar un trauma del personaje sin, necesariamente, llevar al espectador a ese lugar tan sombr\u00edo de la p\u00e9rdida. Es un asunto delicado con el cual lidiar, y por eso buscamos abstraerlo un poco.[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.8&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; Buscamos entender qu\u00e9 hora es seg\u00fan la narrativa y a qu\u00e9 altura deber\u00eda estar el sol. La misma l\u00f3gica sirve para definir cuestiones de espacio y tiempo. <\/p>\n<p>En 3D, tenemos una libertad bien grande para mover la posici\u00f3n del sol. En la posici\u00f3n de la fuente, para simular el sol, yo hice exactamente lo mismo que hago en Live Action. La escena que simula el paso veloz de las horas parece compleja, pero en la pr\u00e1ctica apenas animamos la posici\u00f3n del sol durante el tiempo que ten\u00edamos para el shot. Las sombras se generan autom\u00e1ticamente. Para aumentar o disminuir la intensidad, necesitas poner una fuente que realice esa funci\u00f3n.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Trabajamos en esta cinta de la siguiente forma: todas las externas-d\u00eda van a tener luz naturalista y por la noche Practical Light. En las internas nocturnas, dentro de la casa, ubicamos l\u00e1mparas para iluminar el ambiente. En los otros espacios usamos \u201cl\u00e1mparas\u201d, que en verdad eran fuentes en el techo. En el corredor, lo que se ve en el cuadro son algunas l\u00e1mparas que tambi\u00e9n pusimos ah\u00ed. Fuera de cuadro las fuentes son m\u00e1s artificiales. Dentro del cuadro todo lo que alcanza a verse son l\u00e1mparas creadas por nosotros mismos. Lo que est\u00e1 fuera de cuadro o lo que tiene un origen que no se identifica, son fuentes artificiales del propio programa.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Podemos definir algunos objetos, superficies y materiales como emisores de luz tambi\u00e9n. El tel\u00e9fono celular, por ejemplo, ten\u00eda una cierta luminosidad que tambi\u00e9n interactuaba con la escena. Todav\u00eda estamos lidiando con las artes visuales. Una de las cosas que me dijo Pedro Conti cuando me invit\u00f3 a hacer la pel\u00edcula, es que \u00e9l quer\u00eda dejarlo todo m\u00e1s cinematogr\u00e1fico y realista, cercano a lo que se hace en Live Action. Entonces procur\u00e9 encuadrar de la manera m\u00e1s cinematogr\u00e1fica que pudiera, dentro del conocimiento que tengo hasta aqu\u00ed. Intent\u00e9, por lo menos, usar las mismas l\u00f3gicas que usar\u00eda con una c\u00e1mara real. <\/p>\n<p>Los movimientos de c\u00e1mara son hechos a trav\u00e9s de curvas de animaci\u00f3n y keyframes. Digamos que queremos que la c\u00e1mara salga del punto A y vaya al punto B. Simplemente vectoriamos un keyframe en el punto A y movemos la c\u00e1mara hasta el punto B, despu\u00e9s controlamos la velocidad de inicio y fin a trav\u00e9s de curvas. Tambi\u00e9n podemos a\u00f1adir una c\u00e1mara shake (pareciendo una c\u00e1mara en mano) y cosas por el estilo, para hacer que todo el movimiento sea m\u00e1s org\u00e1nico. <\/p>\n<p>La experiencia fue extraordinaria. Quiero tener la oportunidad de hacer otras pel\u00edculas de animaci\u00f3n, pero la Live Action todav\u00eda ocupa un espacio m\u00e1s grande en mi coraz\u00f3n y la mayor parte de mi tiempo.
